How about knitting some toys for the little one?

I grew up with my gran (my mother hates to knit, usually) knitting me all sorts of toys out of remnants. I got a lovely butterfly pattern out of a knitting mag last year that uses up lots of little remnants.

Just an idea. Incidentally, the toys my gran knitted are still with me and will be passed on my kids (if I have any) or my assorted nieces, nephews or goddess-children.

I somehow posted this comment on the blog entry below – it makes sense here on this one… so here it is again. I couldn’t understand why it had disappeared at first…

Glad to hear about David and the response, even if a bit cryptic. I hope that the sojourn over with the MIL did the trick?

We are having a hard time with friends and their stack of serious illnesses. It has been a very tricky start to 2010, really hoping for better news from them – and no more from others. I really am counting my own blessings right now and trying to be as supportive as I can to my lovely people who are suffering right now.

Things can only get better, I really, really hope!

Yay, snowdrops. We’re buried under 20 inches of snow right now, so those flowers are like a breath of spring. And I totally adore the witchling’s hat and cardigan. It looks like she’s wearing a rich swirl of pomagranate plum icecream on her head. Cardigan looks soooo soft.

or a stripey jumper if the wool is roughly the same weight? Pick a simple shape and colour combine to your heart’s content. My son is too old for that sort of stuff now so take advantage while you can!
